History of Inferno Soccer
Inferno was established in 1995 as a member of the Minnesota Amateur Soccer League's 3rd Division. A men's soccer club attracting players from around the Twin Cities Metro Area. The team in its first year captured the Division 3 League Group B and State Championship posting a 23-2 overall record and runners up for the Wilson Cup.

In 1996, after a promotion to 2nd Division, the team posted a 22-2 overall record. Accomplishments included the '96 Wilson Cup, Division 2 League Group A and 2nd Division State Championship.

In 1997 Inferno was promoted to the First Division. Inferno finished the year with a 15-5-3 overall record, Champions of 1st Division Group A and runners up in the State Championship and Minnesota Cup.

1998 was a breakthrough year for Inferno for two reasons. First, a second team was added and the two teams were named Inferno '95 and Inferno '98 based on their inception. Secondly, Inferno '95 brought the first Minnesota Cup championship to the club with a 3-1 victory over Westside. Inferno '95 finished with a 15-3-4 overall record and runners up in the 1st Division Group A. Inferno '98 finished with a 25-1-1 record including winning the Wilson Cup, 3rd Division Group B and 3rd Division State Championship.

In 1999 a third team was added Inferno '99. Inferno '99 finished their first season with a 11-3-3 overall record, First place in the 3rd Division, Division A and runners up in the 3rd Division State Championship. Inferno '98 finished with a 19-2-1 overall record including First place in the 2nd Division Group B and the 2nd Division State Championship. As the defending Minnesota Cup Champions, Inferno '95 traveled to Chicago to represent Minnesota in the US Amateur Cup. Inferno lost a hard fought battle 2-0. Overall Inferno '95 finished with a 16-6-3 record including runners up in the 1st Division Group B, runners up in the Minnesota Cup and Inferno's first 1st Division State Championship.

In 2000, Inferno's 6th year in existance, we added two teams to our club. The Rebels merged with us and became Inferno Rebels. Inferno '00 was our new 3rd Division team. Our club was made up of five teams, all participating in the MASL. Three of our teams were in 1st Division (Inferno '95, Inferno '98 & Inferno '99), one in 2nd Division (Inferno Rebels) and one in the 3rd Division (Inferno '00). Inferno '00 finished second in Division 3A Group A and had an overall record of 9-9. Inferno Rebels finished second in Division 2 and had an overall record of 13-7. Inferno '95 finished with an overall record of 16-4 including winning the 1st Divisions League Championship with 42 points. Inferno '95 also won the first annual Champion's Cup 7-1 over the MRSL's 1999 State Champion Lone Star. Inferno '98 finished with an overall record of 5-10-5 but won the Relegation Tournament to remain in 1st Division in 2001. Inferno '99 finished with an overall record of 7-13-2 including a hard fought 2-1 (OT) loss to the eventual winners, the Internationals, in the MN Cup Semifinals.

In 2001, Inferno Soccer had a different look. To benefit the MASL, Inferno '99 and Inferno '00 left to form their own club, Strikers F.C. This left Inferno Soccer Club with three teams, Inferno '95 (1st Division), Inferno '98 (1st Division) and Inferno Rebels (2nd Division). Inferno '95 finished with an overall MASL record of 22-1. Highlights included a 16-0 regular season record, the MASL's 1st Division State Championship (2-0 against the Internationals), Region II U.S. Amateur Cup runners up (0-1 against the Milwaukee Bavarians, U.S. Amateur Cup Champions), runners up in the Minnesota Cup (1-2 against the Internationals) and Inferno's first trip to the Region II Tournament of Champions. Inferno '98 finished with an overall record of 8-7-4 including a third place finish in it's bracket and a hard fought loss to the Internationals in the State semifinals. Inferno Rebels finished with an overall record of 7-9-4 and won the Relegation Tournament to remain in Second Division.
